TOYOTA Anti-Counterfeit Conference

On Thursday, August 30, 2007 BUMC, the exclusive distributor of TOYOTA in Lebanon, invited its loyal retailers for genuine parts, parts jobbers and independent repair shops all over Lebanon to a conference for Anti-Counterfeit Parts in Rotana Hotel – Hazmieh. The objective of the conference was how to recognize the counterfeited parts from the genuine ones in the Lebanese market.

- At first, Dr. Fred G. Boustany, President& CEO, welcomed the attendees then he gave word to Mr. Georges Haddad, Parts Manager, who explained, along with Mr. Elie Rahhal and Mr. Charbel Nader, Parts Department - under a power point presentation- how to differentiate between the genuine and the counterfeited spare parts: as package and as spare parts itself.

- Mr. Rahhal and Mr. Nader showed the attendees a live demonstration on displayed genuine parts for the same purpose.

Mr. Haddad stated that retailers are now responsible to explain to their customers about the usage of Genuine Parts vs. the Counterfeited ones and their impact on:    - General safety    - Enhancing the usage of the vehicles    - Protecting passengers from fatal accidents He explained as well BUMC new sales strategy for the year 2007 by applying special discounts on Genuine Parts’ orders for the month of September 2007, to reinforce other parts jobbers, and by giving retailers incentives by the end of the year according to their selling rates.

- In his turn, Mr. Nouhad Halimeh, Service Manager, replied on the attendees’ questions giving more technical details related to the same subject and other technical issues.

- Through this conference, Mr. Pierre Boustany, Vice President& COO, distributed shields to Rafei Trading, Khater Motors and Kasco, as an act of appreciation for achieving the highest rates of selling TOYOTA Genuine spare parts for the year 2006. He also emphasized on the special relationship between BUMC and its parts retailers throughout the years and the close relation to promote Genuine Parts.

- At the end of the conference, a dinner was served on the honor of all attendees.
